Presidents Message
2011 marks the first full year that our organization has operated under its new name “Southern California Claims Association”. In keeping with our name change we will continue to reach out to grow our organization throughout San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
During the past year we have expanded the scope of our involvement within the industry by focusing more resources on continuing education. Two educational seminars were held during 2010, an increase of one from 2009. In 2011 we anticipate increasing our educational offerings to three or four events. We believe that it is impossible to be “over-educated” and will strive to offer relevant and interesting training classes that offer real value to attendees. Many of our class offerings will be DOI certified for continuing education credits. We hope to provide a number of classes that are not readily available elsewhere.
Our organization continues to be an industry leader in charitable donations and strongly believes in giving back to our community. We are continuing our relationship with the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House in 2011. We are proud to announce that we have fully funded our commitment to the Ronald McDonald House for the Robyn Wright Memorial Room.
Later this year, our Fall Golf Classic will benefit another local charity, YAPS (Yucaipa Animal Placement Society). YAPS has been in operation since 1957 providing animal rescue and adoption services to the Inland Empire. Since YAPS does not receive any public funding, they are dependent upon grants and independent contributions for their livelihood.
In order to continue our growth and leadership within the industry it is essential that we continue to attract new talent to our organization. We welcome new members with open arms and encourage their participation in the planning and execution of our many events.
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not thank all the current and past members, directors and officers who have worked diligently to make this organization such a success. It is extremely gratifying to be able to work with such a great group of people who share a common goal of making our organization the premier claims association in California.
